THE WALKERS présente un premier état des lieux du projet de recherche et création MOUVEMENT(S). Il rend compte des recherches initiées autour du mouvement comme déplacement du corps dans l'espace institutionnel entre janvier et décembre 2017. Partant de plans de l’hôpital et de cartographies subjectives, le mouvement a été exploré dans son rapport à l'espace institutionnel. Le Théâtre Louis Aragon a mis à disposition du projet ses espaces afin de présenter sous la forme d’une installation hybride l’ensemble des recherches : vidéos, dessin au sol, performance.
L’Installation vidéo se compose d’une série de 6 vidéos d’animation toutes réalisées avec un stylet numérique à partir des cartographies subjectives. Le stylet permet d’enregistrer sous forme de calques numériques le tracé ainsi que la pression exercée sur la feuille. L’épaisseur du tracé est donc variable et vient accompagner le geste. Les images vectorielles sont ensuite montées en animations image par image. Les ratures, les hésitations et les tremblements sont ainsi conservés.

the Robert Ballanger Intercommunal Hospital, on-site artistic creation at the
Théâtre Louis Aragon, a public-funded theatre of national interest for Art and
creation – Dance, in Tremblay-en-France.

THE WALKERS establishes a first assessment of the MOUVEMENT(S) research and creation project. It accounts of the research gathered around the notion of movement as displacement of the body within the institutional space between January and December 2017. Based on hospital plans and a subjective mapping, movement was explored in its relationship to institutional spaciousness. The Théâtre Louis Aragon provided different areas for a hybrid installation showing all the research in forms of videos, floor drawings, micro editions and performances.
The video installation consists of a series of 6 animated videos all created with a digital pen on the basis of the subjective mappings. The pen records a digital tracing of the drawing as well as the pressure exercised on the sheet of paper. Therefore the width of the line varies and supports the gesture. The vector graphics are then edited into frame by frame animations. The erasures, hesitations and tremors consequently remain.
